Initially few people like me  hated Hotmail for its  look. But the new aavtar of Hotmail with loads of new features, improved performance etc drew more attention  of me and  many others.

Right now , there are 100 Million users using HotMail. Hotmail is now a strong alternative to GMail — even for seasoned geeks like you and me!

Are you too annoyed by the bug vertical billboard  on right side of your inbox : ?

How to remove  ad from your Hotmail inbox  : ?

All you need is the Windows Live Ad Remover Userscript.

Chrome users can simply click the install button at the top of the page.

Firefox users will need to install the Greasemonkey add-on first

Safari users need Greasekit.

Opera users who aren’t sure how to install Userscripts can check this post for help.

Internet Explorer users can try either Trixie or IE7Pro, ( In IE to be true none of them worked for me :(   )

So Hotmail guys, I really DO have a very clean inbox , What about you  ?

Blogger: Google allows using Your Own Photo for a Blog’s background image

  • Alignment: You can adjust horizontal (left, center, right) and vertical (top and bottom) alignment of your background image.
  • Repeat (Tile): If you have a small image, you can have it repeat horizontally and/or vertically to fill the page. Otherwise, we recommend that you choose a page background color that blends in with your background image.
  • Scroll: By default, your image stays in place while readers scroll the page contents. By selecting the “Scroll with page” option, both the background image and page contents scroll together. We recommend that you use an image that blends into your background color or set your image to tile vertically if you choose this option.

This feature is available on Blogger in Draft right now, so please go ahead and check it out!

How to send private Scraps on Orkut

Scraps are messages that one Orkut user can send to other user in their profile. Ideally, a scrap is visible to every user linked to your Orkut.  Sending the private scraps  feature is  now enabled on Orkut .

send private scrap in orkut

Now you can choose to send a private scrap to a friend. On the new orkut, before posting a scrap, just change its visibility to “private”, and that scrap will remain visible only to you and the person receiving the scrap, so it stays completely secret.

If you don’t change the default options, your scraps will have exactly the same behavior as before, so there’s nothing to worry about, things only change if that’s what you want.

Every scrap (as well as photos, videos, etc) will now have a privacy label, so you can easily tell who else can see it. These are exactly the same as the privacy levels that we already had on photos: private, friends and public,” informs Google.
